Method
- Preheat the oven to 190C. Peel and dice the onion and carrots.
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and carrots until softened.
- Add the minced beef or chicken and brown, then stir in the tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour in the stock, season with salt and pepper, and simmer until thickened. Transfer to an oven dish.
- Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with the butter and milk and season.
- Spread the mash over the meat and rough up the surface with a fork.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden on top.
